Your privacy is our top priority. Reminder is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not operate servers, we do not sell data, and we do not run ads or analytics.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Reminder ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our iOS application, its Apple Watch companion, and Home Screen widgets. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Application Purpose
Reminder is a personal task and reminder application designed to help you stay organized with:
- Time-based and location-based reminders
- Subtasks, tags, notes, and attachments
- Recurring schedules and smart natural-language input
- Voice dictation for creating reminders
- Habit tracking and daily morning digest
- Home Screen widgets and Apple Watch companion
- Live Activities for active reminders
- Spotlight search integration
3. Information We Collect
Reminder does not require account creation and does not collect personally identifiable information automatically. The App only stores data that you voluntarily enter, including:
- Reminder details (title, notes, date, time, repeat settings)
- Subtasks, tags, and priorities
- Location data for location-based reminders (only if you enable them)
- Attached photos (if you choose to attach them)
- Voice recordings converted to text for dictation
- Habit tracking entries
- App preferences (theme, language, notification sounds)
We do not collect:
- Your name, email, phone number, or address
- Device identifiers for tracking or advertising
- Background location data (location is only accessed for reminders you create)
- Contacts, calendar, or other on-device data
- Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry
4. How We Store Your Data
All your reminder data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers, and your data is never uploaded to us.
Widget and Watch Sharing
To display reminders on your Home Screen widget and Apple Watch, limited data (such as upcoming reminder titles and times) is shared between the app and its extensions using Apple's App Groups. This data never leaves your device.
Notifications
Reminder uses Apple's local notification system to alert you about your reminders. Notifications are scheduled on your device — no external push servers are involved.
5. Permissions
Reminder requests the following permissions, each used for a specific feature you control:
- Notifications — To alert you when a reminder is due. Without this, reminders cannot notify you.
- Location (When In Use & Always) — Only required if you set location-based reminders. Used in the background to notify you when you arrive at or leave a place.
- Microphone — Used only when you tap the microphone button to dictate a reminder.
- Speech Recognition — Converts your voice into reminder text. Apple's on-device speech recognition is used when available.
- Photo Library — Only used when you choose to attach a photo to a reminder.
All permissions are optional and can be changed at any time in iOS Settings > Reminder.
6. Third-Party Services
Reminder uses only Apple-provided services:
- Apple StoreKit — In-app purchase for Premium (one-time lifetime purchase)
- Apple Notifications — Local notifications for reminders
- Apple Core Location — Location-based reminder triggers
- Apple Speech Recognition — Voice-to-text for dictation
- Apple WidgetKit — Home Screen widgets
- Apple WatchKit — Apple Watch companion app
- Apple Live Activities (ActivityKit) — Lock Screen and Dynamic Island updates for active reminders
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporters, or marketing SDKs.
7. In-App Purchases
Reminder is free to use for up to 10 active reminders. Unlimited reminders and additional features are available through a single one-time lifetime purchase — there are no subscriptions. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID credentials.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with anyone. Period.
If you use the iOS Share Sheet to export a reminder (for example, to Messages or Mail), you explicitly control what gets shared and with whom. Reminder does not send any data to external services on your behalf.
9. Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data. You can:
- View, edit, or delete any reminder at any time
- Disable notifications or location access from iOS Settings
- Delete all app data by uninstalling the App
- Restore Premium purchases on any device using the same Apple ID
10. Data Retention
Your data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. Because no data is sent to our servers, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.
11. Children's Privacy
Reminder is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information through the App, please contact us.
12. International Users
Reminder is available in multiple languages worldwide. Since data is stored on your device, it is subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where you reside. No data is transferred internationally by the App.
13. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- All data is stored using Apple's secure SwiftData framework
- Data never leaves your device without your explicit action
- Device-level security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID) protects access to the App
However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to enable device-level security on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notice.
